Registered to UNESCO World Heritages List and being one of the honorable sites, Mount Nemrut just opened the season for 2017 earlier than it usually does.
Once the roads were cleared out of snow, tourists started to visit Mount Nemrut amazed with the view, not believing their eyes. Most of the times, while they would wait for the snow to get melted away from the roads, with a good team work, the roads were cleared and it was opened. The team who worked hard for the roads was also proud of this view and happy.
On the Eastern Terrace of Nemrut, snow on the statues of gods had melted and it fascinated its visitors looking at this beautiful view. On the other terrace and the north, more than half of the statues were still covered with the snow.
The road trip up to the mountain was comfortable. As the roads were nicely cleared, you can drive to the end point, car parking and cafeteria area and 500 meters path will take you up to the peak.
Nemrut, presenting an eye pleasure for the visitors coming from all around the world, this beautiful open-air museum at the peak, welcomed more than 40,000 people last year.
Although it is mostly visited in warmer months, from this moment, it is officially open and let’s see how many people will visit Nemrut this year.
The estimated numbers are higher than last year… So, the name becomes more and more known and let’s hope it gets into the top of the list of most visited places on earth.
Have a great season Nemrut!
